I run a local LLM at home, and people are shocked that I can run it on the hardware I have. It took a lot of trial and error configuration wise, but I found a happy balance.

Why is AI good at Coding

The one industry that LLMs has impacted the most is the software industry. I don't think anyone would dispute that statement. I can write more code and I am better informed when building solutions thanks to LLMs. I am more effective as a developer thanks to LLMs. With that said why is it more impactful in programming than another industry?

As a contractor I have undertaken a lot of interviews. I have been offended so many of times, you gradually develop a thick skin. If I have learned anything, when there is smoke there is fire. Bad behavior equals bad job 100% of the time. So when I see any of these red flags I walk.

There is a job currently going in Edinburgh that I am a perfect fit for it, but I completely refuse to apply. The reason is that company gave me the worst technical assessment I ever had.

AI did not Replace Software Engineers, Companies did!

Developers have been let go in record numbers in the last couple of years. Some say it's due to AI, some say it's due to COVID over hiring. Regardless, we have become expendable, and it makes no sense in a company that builds software.
